Flowers for Scarborough General Hospital
Thinking of a patient at Scarborough General Hospital? We can send get well flowers, a plant or a new baby bouquet, hand-arranged by our florists in Mississauga, with a handwritten card at no charge.
About the hospital
Scarborough General Hospital is part of Scarborough Health Network, and it is the largest and oldest hospital in the area. It was founded in 1956 by the Sisters of Misericorde as Scarborough's first hospital, and it stands at 3050 Lawrence Avenue East, near McCowan Road. It is a major teaching hospital with an emergency department, a critical care centre, medical and surgical care, cancer and diabetes care, children's care, and maternal and newborn care. With 556 beds, the name of the unit and the room number make a real difference.
Delivery to Scarborough General Hospital
Scarborough is in both of our delivery zones, so we deliver to the hospital Monday to Saturday and on Sundays. Fresh flowers can be delivered the same day. Delivery is free from $50 up and $15 below that, and we let you know by email once it is done. Please phone 905-677-9999 before you order if your flowers need a set arrival time.
What to include with your order
- the patient's full name, as the hospital has it on record
- Scarborough General Hospital, 3050 Lawrence Avenue East, Toronto, M1P 2V5
- the unit or floor and the room number, if the family has shared them
- a phone number for you, so we can check any detail
- your card message, signed with your name
Before you send flowers
A hospital this large does not have a single rule for every floor, and what a unit allows can change. Fresh flowers and plants may not be allowed in critical care or for patients with weakened immune systems. The family can tell you, or try the main line at 416-438-2911. If it is a no, a bouquet waiting at home is a thoughtful welcome back.
Flowers for a new baby
Maternal and newborn care is one of the programs here, though parents are often home again in a day or two. Ask first, then choose from our new baby flowers. Our guide on what to send and when can help with the timing.
Choosing get well flowers
Bedside space is tight, so go for something compact that comes in its own vase or basket, and keep the scent gentle if the room is shared. See our get well flowers and our flowers and gifts under $60. A plant from our potted plants and succulents suits a longer stay where the unit allows it, and our guide to sending flowers to someone in hospital has other ideas.
