Toronto General Hospital Flower Delivery

Mystic Flowers delivers get well flowers, plants and cheerful arrangements to patients at Toronto General Hospital. Our studio is in Mississauga, every arrangement is hand-arranged by our florists, and every order includes a free handwritten card.

About the hospital

Toronto General Hospital stands at 200 Elizabeth Street, near University Avenue and College Street, on the stretch of downtown known as Hospital Row. It is the flagship of University Health Network and traces its roots back to 1812. It is well known for heart care and transplants, with the Peter Munk Cardiac Centre and the Ajmera Transplant Centre on site. Insulin was first used clinically here in 1922, and the first successful single lung transplant followed in 1983.

Several large hospitals stand side by side on this stretch, and some are linked by bridges and tunnels. A full address and the right hospital name make all the difference, so please confirm that your patient is at Toronto General before you order. Our pages for Mount Sinai Hospital and Toronto Western Hospital cover those sites.

Delivery to Toronto General

Toronto is in both of our delivery zones, so we deliver to the hospital from Monday to Saturday and on Sundays too. We offer same-day delivery of fresh flowers, delivery is free on orders of $50 or more, and orders under $50 have a $15 delivery fee. We email you as soon as your order has been delivered. If your flowers need to arrive at a set time, please call our studio at 905-677-9999 before you order.

What to include with your order

  • the patient's full name, as the hospital has it on record
  • Toronto General Hospital, 200 Elizabeth Street, Toronto, M5G 2C4
  • the unit or floor and the room number, if the family has shared them
  • your own phone number, in case we have a question
  • your card message, signed with your name

Check before you send to a transplant or cardiac patient

This is the most important step here. Patients who have had a transplant may be at higher risk of infection, and transplant, critical care and cardiac units may not allow fresh flowers or plants at all. Each unit sets its own rules, and they can change. Ask the family first, or call the hospital switchboard at 416-340-4800. If flowers are not allowed, a bouquet at home for the day your patient returns is a lovely alternative, and a card message on its own still means a great deal.

Flowers for the family at home

A long hospital stay is hard on the people at home too. If you want to help, consider sending something to the spouse or parent who is spending long days at the bedside. A plant from our plants and succulents collection needs little care, and a gift basket of treats is easy to share. Gift baskets are made to order and need at least one day's notice.

Choosing get well flowers

If the unit allows flowers, a compact design in its own vase or basket is easiest on a bedside table, and gentle scents are kinder in a shared room. Browse our get well flowers, or read our guides to get well flowers and sending flowers to someone in hospital. For the rest of the city, see our Toronto page or the full delivery map and zones.
