Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre Flower Delivery
Mystic Flowers delivers get well flowers, plants and new baby bouquets to patients at the Bayview campus of Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. Our studio is in Mississauga, every arrangement is hand-arranged by our florists, and every order includes a free handwritten card.
About the hospital
Sunnybrook's main campus stands at 2075 Bayview Avenue in Toronto, in North York. It began as Sunnybrook Military Hospital, which admitted its first patient in 1946, and it is still home to the largest veterans care facility in Canada. Today, the Bayview campus is also a Level I trauma centre, with a burn centre, the Odette Cancer Centre, heart and brain programs, and a Women and Babies program with a neonatal intensive care unit.
Sunnybrook has other sites too, including the Holland Centre at 43 Wellesley Street East and St. John's Rehab on Cummer Avenue, so please check that your patient is at the Bayview campus before you order. If they are at one of the other sites, call our studio and we will help you with the address.
Delivery to Sunnybrook
Toronto is in both of our delivery zones, so we can deliver to Sunnybrook from Monday to Saturday and on Sundays too. We offer same-day delivery of fresh flowers, delivery is free on orders of $50 or more, and orders under $50 have a $15 delivery fee. We email you as soon as your order has been delivered. If your flowers need to arrive at a set time, call our studio at 905-677-9999 before you order.
What to include with your order
- the patient's full name, as the hospital has it on record
- Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, Bayview campus, 2075 Bayview Avenue, Toronto, M4N 3M5
- the wing, the unit and the room number, if the family has shared them
- your own phone number, in case we have a question
- your card message, signed with your name
Check the unit first
This matters more at Sunnybrook than at most hospitals. Sunnybrook says that live flowers cannot go to a number of its Bayview units, including intensive care units, because of restrictions on scented products, and that the list can change at any time. Some areas also limit the kind of vase that can come in. Ask the family which unit the patient is on before you order, or call the hospital switchboard at 416-480-6100. If flowers are not allowed, a bouquet delivered to the patient's home is a lovely welcome back.
Flowers for a new baby
Many families start out in the Women and Babies program here, and many parents go home soon after the birth, so check with the family before you send to the hospital. If the baby is in the neonatal unit, flowers are best sent to the home. Our new baby flowers are bright and cheerful, and our guide to new baby flowers explains when to send them to the hospital and when to wait.
Choosing get well flowers
A compact design in its own vase or basket is easiest on a bedside table, and gentle scents are kinder in a shared room. Browse our get well flowers and our flowers and gifts under $60. For a longer stay, a plant from our potted plants and succulents can brighten a room if the unit allows plants. Our guide to sending flowers to someone in hospital has more ideas.
