An old town and a garden suburb
North Toronto was a town before it was part of the city. In 1890 the villages of Bedford Park, Eglinton and Davisville came together as the Town of North Toronto, and Toronto annexed it in 1912. The name is still used for the area, and the subway stops at Davisville, Eglinton and Lawrence. To the south, Mount Pleasant Cemetery and the Beltline Trail, on an old rail line, offer a quiet walk.
Lawrence Park came next. Land was assembled from 1907, including a parcel from John Lawrence, who gave the neighbourhood its name, and it became one of Toronto's first planned garden suburbs, with most homes built between 1910 and the late 1940s. Flower lovers may like this part: much of the landscape work on its boulevards and parks was done by Howard and Lorrie Dunington-Grubb, and Lorrie later founded Sheridan Nurseries.
Flowers for midtown occasions
For a birthday, an anniversary or a dinner invitation, our best sellers and roses are a good place to start. A plant from our potted plants and succulents suits a condo near Eglinton, and our white flowers have a quieter look. Gift baskets are made to order and need at least one day's notice. Every order includes a free handwritten card.
Flowers for someone in hospital
For a patient nearby, our Sunnybrook page has the address and what to include. Our get well flowers are a good place to start, and our guide to sending flowers to someone in hospital has more ideas.
Sympathy and funeral flowers
Funeral flowers are delivered directly to the funeral home. Our funeral home list has homes across the city, including the North York Chapel of Kane-Jerrett Funeral Homes on Yonge Street. Please add the funeral home and the drop-off time in your order notes at checkout. Browse our standing sprays, wreaths and all sympathy and funeral flowers.
Order directly from the florist
